Nick Drake Pink Moon (1972)
Favorite Track: "Place to Be" Seemingly as simple as simple gets, this album is just Drake and his acoustic guitar for the most part. The album never feels empty though. Drake makes his guitar fill the songs with a dynamic that is alternately chorded and picked apart; his talent at guitar comes through on this album more than on any other. I just love this album. The music is beautiful for lack of a better word to apply to music. His voice combined with his guitar playing and very importantly, his lyrics, combine for a beauty rarely found in modern music. Of all the albums on my top ten, I think this is the one that I wish everyone would listen to. Go to the All Music Guide and check out their review. |
